When I take pictures of a beach wedding I like to move around the couple/group the whole time. I use two cameras, normally one with black and white film and the other with color. On one camera I use a telephoto lens so that I can take close-up shots of the bride and groom without being 'in their face.'
During the ceremony is my favorite time to get individual shots of the groom (if people are not too close). I prefer this time because I can capture his true expressions of happiness and love. You just can't re-create the look on a man's face as he looks at his soon-to-be wife during their wedding. Most men don't like to pose for pictures. The photos taken when they aren't posing are so natural and real. Those I LOVE!
I also like to take a shot of all who are present during a ceremony. It's neat to see all of the people looking at the couple getting married. Plus, most people want to remember all who attended because the ceremony goes by so fast!
When planning your wedding...start making notes of certain photographs that you see that catch your eye. Was it the pose, the lighting, the focus, etc. I definitely have my own style but truly want to capture pictures that you will love. Everyone has an idea in their mind of how they want the pictures to be and after-all, it is your wedding day. I love to try unique poses and if that is something that interests you, then let me know. I'm not offended by you giving me ideas for pictures/poses you want. Some people have one pose that they've seen somewhere and tell me to do as I want with the rest as long as they get this 'one' shot.
If you are looking for a photographer who just does the standard run-of-the-mill shots, then that isn't me. I love creative & unique poses mixed with some standard ones. It is my goal to document your day.... with photographs.
